Errata: changes and corrections
Although a considerable amount of time and effort went into researching and fact-checking The Good Credit Game, the world of credit is not static. There are inevitably changes that come about because of new laws and regualtions or the policies of lending institutions or credit agencies. Because we were conscious of this when we designed The Good Credit Game, we endeavored to minimize picayune details and to look more at the big picture of credit. However, the following are some recent changes in credit that should be considered when using the credit teaching curriculum:
-
Fico will no longer include in its credit-score calculations any record of a consumer failing to pay a bill if the bill has been paid or settled with a collection agency.
-
Medical collections have a lower impact on a FICO credit score, commensurate with the credit risk they represent.
